"IN THE HOME OF THE BRAVE, IN THE LAND OF THE FREE,
IT'S THE DAWNING OF THE AGE OF INSANITY.
FROM THE SPACIOUS SKIES, FROM SEA TO SHINING SEA...
KINGDOMS RISE TO FALL, AND ALL IS VANITY..."
Recorded over 20 years ago (as an experimental track with a 48 piece string section), this song just becomes more timely with each passing day. It was eventually released as the "odd" track on the "MAELSTROM BEACH" album. The current state of our world compelled us to make this lyric video.
Imagined Brian Wilson and Jimmy Webb collaboration... with props to Jean Sibelius.
This is one of those songs that somehow just happens... it was written and recorded within a 3 hour period. Wayne Erwin (of Rockin' Foo and The Monkees' fame) played the guitars on the 1982 demo, which can be heard here. Rather than re-record the song from scratch we just superimposed some new elements onto the demo from 1982. "California Myth" shattered, lol.
Written in Atlanta, which helps to explain it's obvious Southern elements. Screams out for a 'call and response' from a gospel choir.
A good ol' folky protest song... No "fanfare" for the common man.
The "happiest" song ever, lol. Like just one fry shy of a "HAPPY MEAL" ( McDonald's are you listening?)
90s' Era "DEMO"
90s' Era "DEMO" - Remember "Boy Bands"... when Zomba was a "thing"?
Will put you to... sleep.
90s' Era"DEMO" for a Christmas movie - had THE BANGLES" in mind (I think).
